Washington State Update - 02/06/2008 Caucus: This Saturday, 12:30pm. More info: http://ronpaulwa.com
INVALID BALLOTS Q: Why is the Secretary of State saying that many of the ballots they've received are "invalid?" A: A lot of the ballots were invalid because they were not properly marked. You must check the "Republican" box on the outer envelope. Pay attention when filling out your ballot, and read the yellow highlighted instructions.
REPUBLICAN "MEMBERSHIP" Q: Can I vote for Ron Paul, and attend the caucus, even though I'm not a "member" of the Republican Party. A: YES. Any registered voter can sign the oath, vote on the ballot, and attend the caucus on Saturday - no matter what your party affiliation is.
CAUCUS REPORTS Q: Are we keeping track of the delegates elected? A: Yes. We need you to print out the caucus worksheet: http://ronpaulwa.com/worksheet and have one Ron Paul supporter in your precinct fill it out at the caucus. Follow the instructions on the worksheet to report your caucus results.
CAUCUS STRATEGY Q: What is our strategy at the caucus this Saturday? A: You show up early, elect delegates, stay for whole meeting, and report back to us afterward. 1. Read the caucus instructions on our website ( http://ronpaulwa.com ), so you'll be ready for Saturday. 2. Join the conference call 9pm tonight (and again on Friday, 9pm): 605-475-8500 (code: 5092984). Archived conference call: Part one: http://ronpaulwa.com/part1 , Part two: http://ronpaulwa.com/part2 3. Dress like a conservative, no Ron Paul shirts. Keep your Ron Paul button in your pocket at first. 4. Watch for suspicious or inappropriate activities, and report them immediately to 206-801-0161
CAMPAIGN STRATEGY Q: I heard on the news that we don't have many delegates. Is that true? A: We have a healthy amount of delegates. Ron Paul has taken 2nd place in five states. Even in states where another candidate won, like West Virginia, we've been able to negotiate with other campaigns to get some of those delegates. This doesn't get reported on the news. In the primary, the goal is not to "win" states - it is to elect delegates! That's what we're doing, and there are still 25 primaries to go. Super Tuesday was only the beginning. We have to run the entire distance to win.
WASHINGTON STATE Q: The caucus is this Saturday. What should I be doing to help us win? A: It's time to rally our fellow Ron Paul supporters, and help them get to the caucus. 1. Come to the call center, and help make "Get Out The Vote" calls to other Ron Paul supporters! Call 206-518-3939, and tell Jeremiah that you're coming. The call center is in the University District of Seattle, right off I-5. 2. Re-call your friends and family (go through your phone's contact list) - Find out which of them support Ron Paul, convince them to attend their local caucus, and help them find the location. Re-email your entire address book - Ask them to respond if they support Ron Paul. Re-visit the supporters you've identified in your neighborhood. Make sure every Ron Paul supporter knows where their local caucus meeting is. You can help find find it at: http://ronpaulwa.com/locations . 3. Remember, even if they cannot attend the caucus, someone else in their precinct can nominate them as a delegate, and they can go to the county convention.
